What is National Philanthropy Day?

In 2012 the Government of Canada officially recognized November 15th as National Philanthropy Day.  On this day thousands of people around the world come together to put philanthropy into action and recognize the change that philanthropy has brought to our community. It is a celebration of giving, volunteering, and charitable engagement.  A day that spurs action for getting involved, for ways to connect with causes and each other. A day that our community can highlight the accomplishments, large and small, of all those involved.  A day to inspire and encourage people to create their own ideas for philanthropic engagement.
